How do I get started?
Start with Level 1
The first step to becoming a swimming teacher is with our SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant qualification. This course is open to anyone who is at least 16 years of age and allows you to develop your knowledge and skills so that you can support a Level 2 Swimming Instructor to deliver a learn to swim session.

Progress to Level 2
After gaining your Level 1 qualification you can then move on to our SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification and become a fully qualified swimming teacher. This qualification will enable you to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate swimming lessons independently so you can teach your own class of beginners.
