
School Swimming CPDs
May 30, 2018The National Curriculum Training Programme (NCTP) is made up of two training courses. They use both theory and practical sessions to teach you the most effective ways of delivering school swimming lessons.
Support Teacher of School Swimming (Key Stages 1 and 2) is part of the Swim England National Curriculum Training Programme (NCTP). Once completed, you will be equipped to actively assist a more qualified teacher in teaching core aquatic skills to small groups of similar ability learners within the context of a school swimming programme.
This training has been developed to deliver the right training to teachers and assistants to ensure school children receive the best quality aquatics education.
The CPD is open to anyone over the age of 16 years, working in a school swimming environment; school teachers, classroom assistants, learning support staff, nursery nurses, qualified swimming teachers, parents, helpers or homeschoolers, and PGCE students.
This CPD provides 3 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.
4.5 hours theory and 1.5 hours pool practical.

The CPD is open to anyone over the age of 16 years, working in a school swimming environment; school teachers, classroom assistants, learning support staff, nursery nurses, qualified swimming teachers, parents, helpers or homeschoolers, and PGCE students.
This CPD provides 4.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.
7.5 hours theory and 1.5 hours pool practical.

This CPD provides combined delivery of the Support Teacher of School Swimming – Primary and the Teacher of School Swimming – Primary.
The CPD is open to anyone over the age of 16 years, working in a school swimming environment; school teachers, classroom assistants, learning support staff, nursery nurses, qualified swimming teachers, parents, helpers or homeschoolers, and PGCE students.
15 hours consisting of both theory and pool practical.

This CPD will help you apply the programme of study for National Curriculum Physical Education at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in line with requirements for swimming and water safety.
You will be able to identify the differences between School Swimming lessons and Learn to Swim lessons, identify activities that will challenge and engage pupils and be able to apply the Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Charter.
This CPD is aimed at Swim England Level 2 swimming teachers over the age of 16 years.
This CPD provides 1.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.
