Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework Swimming 8 – 10

This workshop is an introduction to Stages 8-10 swimming and your role within them. It will help you identify the key themes in Stages 8-10 and describe the key considerations for writing a set.

You will also be able to identify the key features of component parts of Starts, Underwater phases and transitions, Turns and Relay takeovers.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 2 teachers.

Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework Stages 8, 9, 10 – Diving

This will provide you will the technical knowledge to deliver FUNdamental diving skills from the poolside. It covers basic diving positions, dry land practices and key teaching points. It enables you to deliver the Swim England Aquatic Skills framework Stages 8, 9 & 10 for diving.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 2 teachers.

Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework Stages 8, 9, 10 – Synchro

The workshop is an introduction to the fundamentals of synchronised swimming. It is an ideal workshop to further develop the knowledge and understanding of basic sculling techniques, basic figures and basic routine practices in order to deliver fun and effective synchro sessions.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 2 teachers.

Swim England Mini Polo

This workshop will enable swimming teachers to understand the philosophy and background theory to delivering a water polo programme underpinned by LTAD.

Swim England Diving dry rigging

This CPD is designed to train coaches working with competitive athletes how to support, control rotation and coach divers using the overhead rig in a dry environment.

The CPD is for qualified diving coaches or Level 2 coaches working with competitive athletes.

Swim England Diving rip entry

The Swim England rip entry CPD is an introduction to creating a high-scoring rip entry, and is a fundamental aspect of British Diving’s Single System for coaching.

Candidates will learn the skills to help a diver improve the quality of their forward and back entry, increasing the frequency of a rip entry.

The CPD is for diving coaches looking to develop competitive athletes.

Swim England Diving dryland preparation

The workshop is an introduction to physical preparation and covers some of the fundamental aspects of British Diving’s Single System for coaching.

It is an ideal workshop to develop dryland coaching practices and provide coaches with the knowledge to pull together a comprehensive dryland programme for their athletes.

The CPD is for qualified diving coaches or Level 2 coaches working with competitive athletes.

Swim England Diving – twisting

TThis workshop aims to provides you with the skills to help a diver improve the quality of their twisting skills in all directions.

It will help you to understand the British Diving Single System, the difference between tilt, torque and RMI twist, the key points of 5120 and 5220 lead-ups, a range of lead ups that can be used for forward/back twist and be able to apply the above skills/coaching points in a practical coaching session.

The CPD is for Diving coaches intending to develop competitive athletes

Developing Discipline Skills within the Learn to Swim Framework – with or without pool work

This workshop will enable you to identify and describe the Swim England Aquatic Sports otherwise known as ‘Disciplines’ including being able to identify the ‘Key Discipline Skills’ that need to be developed throughout the 7 stages for a successful transition into those sports.

Adapt and deliver current activities at each stage that will encourage and develop the Key Discipline Skills required, be able to recognise participants who demonstrate a natural ability to perform the Key Discipline Skills and be able to signpost participants towards Swim England Aquatic Sports.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 2 swimming teachers.

3 hours dry time with an optional 1 hour pool session.

Delivering the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway using a fun approach

Learn how to use fun activities to help learners develop their skills and strokes. By the end of this workshop you will know how to introduce, deliver, build and manage fun activities in a learn to swim environment.

You will also understand how the activities support child development, link into the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework and the Athlete Development Support Pathway.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 1 and 2 swimming teachers.

Dolphin snorkeller

Learn how to introduce the fun skill of snorkelling to children who are already learning to swim. This workshop is a partnership between Swim England and British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) and is designed to equip Swim England Level 2 swimming teachers with the additional skills required to deliver BSAC’s Dolphin Snorkeller course.

Once this workshop has taken place, you will be able to deliver the Dolphin Snorkeller in a pool environment to swimmers as part of their Learn to Swim scheme under stages 8, 9 & 10 of the Aquatic Skills Framework. You do not have to hold any other formal qualification

The guided learning hours for this workshop is 7.5 hours – this is a combination of up to 3 hours online learning (including reading) followed by a 4.5 hour face to face and practical session.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 2 teachers.

Adult swimming

The adult swimming CPD has been developed with Swim England to help you prepare and deliver swimming lessons for adults. This workshop details the stages of the adult framework, some motivations and barriers for adults when thinking about learning to swim and how you can adapt the lesson to the individual needs of adult swimmers.

The CPD is for Swim England Level 1 or Level 2 swimming teachers and coaches.
