Fundamentals & Aquatic Skills of School Swimming – Primary

Fundamentals & Aquatic Skills of School Swimming (Key Stages 1 & 2) is part of the Swim England National Curriculum Training Programme and is recognised by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and by the Professional Development Board for Physical Education.

This training has been developed to deliver the right training to teachers and assistants to ensure school children receive the best quality aquatics education.

The CPD is for primary school teachers and support staff or students involved in initial teacher training.

Aquatic Skills of School Swimming – Primary

Aquatic Skills (Key Stages 1 & 2) is part of the SE National Curriculum Training Programme. The Swim England National Curriculum Training Programme has been developed to deliver training to teachers and assistants to equip them with the right skills and knowledge to deliver high quality school swimming lessons. .

The CPD is for primary school teachers and support staff or students involved in initial teacher training.

9 hours dry time.

Fundamentals of School Swimming – Primary

Fundamentals of School Swimming (Key Stages 1 & 2) is part of the SE National Curriculum Training Programme. Once qualified the holder of the NCTP Fundamentals will be equipped to actively assist and/or support a more qualified teacher in the teaching of a range of core aquatic skills to a small group of similar ability within the context of a school swimming programme.

The CPD is for primary school teachers and support staff or students involved in initial teacher training.

Fundmentals & Aquatic Skills of School Swimming – Secondary

Fundamentals & Aquatic Skills of School Swimming (Key Stage 3) will help teachers to create a safe learning environment, develop aquatic skills and physical literacy and be able to plan and prepare aquatic sessions.

The CPD is for Key Stage 3 school teachers.

15 hours dry time.

School Swimming and the National Curriculum

This CPD will equip swimming teachers who deliver school swimming with the knowledge and understanding of swimming in the National Curriculum.

It covers where swimming sits in relation to physical education, how to engage pupils in their learning and using other aquatic activities to support learning in other areas of the curriculum.

The CPD is for Level 1 and 2 swimming teachers who deliver school swimming.

3 hours dry time.
