Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework – Stages 8-10 Swimming

This CPD is designed to equip swimming teachers with information and ideas which will facilitate their understanding of competitive swimming (stages 8-10) and who wish to gain a greater understanding of the role they play in the development of a young person through a swimming pathway or within a club environment.

The CPD is for Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years.

This CPD provides 2 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework – Stages 8-10 Diving

This CPD will provide you with the technical knowledge to deliver FUNdamental diving skills from the poolside. It covers basic diving positions, dry land practices, and key teaching points. It enables you to deliver the Swim England Aquatic Skills framework Stages 8, 9 & 10 for diving.

The CPD is for Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years.

This CPD provides 2 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

3 hours theory and 1 hour pool practical.

Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework – Stages 8-10 Artistic Swimming

This CPD is an introduction to the fundamentals of artistic swimming. It is an ideal workshop to further develop the knowledge and understanding of basic sculling techniques, basic figures and basic routine practices in order to deliver fun and effective artistic swimming sessions.

The CPD is for Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years.

This CPD provides 3 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

5 hours theory and 1 hour pool practical.

Developing Discipline Skills within the Learn to Swim Framework – with or without pool work

This workshop will enable you to identify and describe the Swim England Aquatic Sports otherwise known as ‘Disciplines’ including being able to identify the ‘Key Discipline Skills’ that need to be developed throughout the 7 stages for a successful transition into those sports.

Adapt and deliver current activities at each stage that will encourage and develop the Key Discipline Skills required, be able to recognise participants who demonstrate a natural ability to perform the Key Discipline Skills and be able to signpost participants towards Swim England Aquatic Sports.

The CPD is for Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years.

This CPD provides 1.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

3 hours theory with an optional 1 hour pool practical.

The Fun Approach to Learn to Swim

This CPD has been designed to help attendees outline the Fundamental Movement Skills and Core Aquatic Skills and how they link together.

The CPD shows how to deliver safe, fun, engaging and progressive activities that link in to the Core Aquatic Skills, and how to introduce fun activities into a learn to swim environment.

The CPD is for Level 1 and Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years.

This CPD provides 1.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

Adult swimming

The adult swimming CPD has been developed with Swim England to help you prepare and deliver swimming lessons for adults. This workshop details the stages of the adult framework, some motivations and barriers for adults when thinking about learning to swim and how you can adapt the lesson to the individual needs of adult swimmers.

The CPD is for Level 2 Swimming Teachers over the age of 16 years, who want to deliver swimming lessons for adults.

Teaching Water Safety in the Learn to Swim Programme

The purpose of this CPD is to provide individuals with up to date knowledge regarding water safety competency, identifying where water skills and knowledge are embedded within the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, from the Core Aquatic Skills to award outcomes. It gives examples of good practice, strategies and adaptions to teaching practices that will support participants with their skills and knowledge of how to remain safe in and around different water-based situations.

This CPD is aimed at anyone over the age of 16 years inclusive of swimming teachers and assistants, coaching staff, pool operators, swim coordinators delivering the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.

This CPD provides 1.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.

2 hours and 20 minutes theory and 40 minute pool practical.

Effective Teaching of Swimming Skills and Strokes

The aim of this CPD is to provide individuals with current up-to-date knowledge on how to effectively teach the Core Aquatic Skills (CAS) and swimming strokes progressively throughout the Swim England Learn to Swim Stages with the focus being on the swimmer and not just the outcome of the Stage.

This CPD is aimed at anyone over the age of 16 years inclusive of swimming teachers and assistants, co-ordinators, schools teachers and staff delivering school swimming lessons.

This CPD is ideal for the following individuals:

  • Swimming Assistants working towards their Swimming Teachers qualification
  • Existing Swimming Teachers and those returning to the industry that want to refresh their knowledge and update their skills.

This CPD provides 1.5 CIMSPA endorsed CPD points.
